About the Artist

“I feel my art reaches its highest purpose when it transcends the surface—when it stirs something quiet and internal, touching the viewer in an intimate, unspoken way.
May what you see here speak to that place in you.”
Sherry Plum
I am an unconventional artist, driven not by formal technique but guided by mood, memory, and the interplay of texture and light. Each painting begins in stillness, drawn from a place where feeling leads and form follows.
I am in awe of the greats across time—and of artists I’ve personally known. From Sheila Elias to Daniel Kaufman, these masters seem born with a genius that makes their work profoundly moving and deceptively effortless-seeming. But I’ve learned firsthand how elusive it is to create something that stirs people to their core.
From my very first brushstroke, the paint has never ceased to surprise me—blending and flowing with a life of its own. My style fuses abstraction with frequent glimpses of figures, animals, and objects—often unintentional elements that surface when thought recedes and intuition takes over. In this zone, time dissolves, and I rarely recall how the final result came to be.
My paintings embody a harmonious mixture of diverse mediums—acrylic paint, inks, graphite, pencils, pastels, charcoal, handmade papers, wood, and textiles—each carefully selected to elevate the vision behind each piece. Some works are minimalistic, employing just one medium, while others embrace a symphony of materials, textures, and layers. My process is fluid, resulting in creations as varied as my own emotional landscape. Color is not constrained by conventional harmony but is instead chosen instinctively to evoke individuality, ensuring each composition is unique and true to itself.
I thrive on breaking free from convention. My work has been described as energetic and bold, or marked by an intensity of raw emotion and unrestrained energy. Some work, though, is more silent and quiet, begging for a deep, reflective pause. To me, each of my paintings is an experiment. Some are triumphs; others are battles I fight over and over, layering until there’s nothing more to give. I scrutinize every detail—down to the tiniest dot or the thinnest line—and there are nights when I fall in love with a piece, only to wake up the next morning and despise it. I’m never fully satisfied, even when my pieces find their final resting place.
I am consumed by the quiet urgency to create. Some days I paint for 14 hours straight, until my eyes refuse to stay open or the fumes are so overwhelming that I can barely breathe, my eyes bloodshot and watering. Painting, color, texture—for me, it’s become an obsession. But for the viewer, ultimately, my work exists as an offering of presence—meant to be experienced slowly, felt deeply, lived with, and held in the quiet spaces of the everyday. I feel my art reaches its highest purpose when it transcends the surface—when it stirs something quiet and internal, touching the viewer in an intimate, unspoken way. My hope is that what you see in my work speaks to that place in you.
I invite you to view the collection and find the piece that quietly calls your name.
Thank you for stopping by and sharing your time with me.
